what is the difference between a converter and an adapter?

I'm going to Europe and want to connect my battery charger what do I plug in the converter or adapter or both?

An adapter is just a gateway, in that what is on the input pins is directly connected to the output contacts. It assumes that your device is compatible with what you will connect. An inverter converts the signal / power input compatible with a tdevice connected to the output, because it is not comptible with the entry. Most battery chargers these days are universal types switch mode, it will need an adapter.
