What happens if I use a 30W AC adapter for my Extensa 5420 instead of a 65W adapter?

I have an Acer Extensa 5420 and no reason for the Power Adapter that came with the laptop no longer works. Now I'm using an adapter for my cousin's Acer netbook … But after 20 minutes of charging, it starts to make noise it makes when I connect / disconnect the power. Has it something to do with the watts?
