The famous nursery rhyme "Mary Had a Little Lamb" was written as a poem and published in 1830. You may be surprised to learn that the story is based on actual events, Mary is a young lamb that his brother encouraged her to take to school. It happened to be a visitor that day, which was so with all the incident the next day he came back and gave Mary a piece of paper that contained three stanzas of the original poem.

While we all can not be Mary and own lambs (Or take them to school), we may have stuffed lambs as pets instead. Although most baby animals (such as lambs, rabbits, and chicks) tend to remind us of spring and renewal, we do not have to wait until then for our children to be able to snuggle with a plush. However, sheep are stuffed an ideal gift at any time of year and you can guarantee your child will not sleep without once they have one!
